The Data2Laws project kick-off seminar, held at IMT Atlantique in Brest on March 12-13, 2025, marked the official launch of this ambitious initiative under the PEPR eNSEMBLE program and the France 2030 plan.

The event brought together key partners, including OW2 and the Eclipse Foundation, to discuss the project’s goals of exploring the scalability and sustainability of large open communities.
Participants engaged in insightful presentations and workshops, exploring theories such as critical mass in collective action (thanks to Thomas Baillie-Dawe and Thinh Tran, PhD students) and defining metrics for project health.

Lucas Ribeiro (R&D Engineer at PEPR eNSEMBLE) presented a proof of concept for collecting and analyzing Wikipedia metadata using Elasticsearch and Kibana. The seminar concluded with plans for further collaboration and development of the project, laying a strong foundation for future work.
